Schöfegger, Josef

Josef SCHOEFEGGER was a Jehovah’s Witness who had been born in Feldkirchen bei Mattighofen in Upper Austria in 1906. He was a shoemaker by trade and was married to Theresia Schöfegger with whom he had a child in 1937 (Josephine). The family lived at 120 Nonntaler Hauptstrasse, Salzburg, (Outer Nonntal). Josef SCHOEFEGGER was arrested for refusing military service on November 24, 1939 and deported to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp on January 4, 1940.

He was murdered there on April 15, 1940. Theresia and Josephine survived the persecutions.
